Masseria Gemmabella welcomes you to sit back and enjoy the timeless calm of it’s rural location. Within its huge deep walls, stood proud for centuries, you really feel a sense of the history whilst basking in all the modern luxuries of under floor heating and air conditioning. Perfect for year-round visiting.
A mother and daughter duo from the UK bought this tumble-down farmstead in late 2014. A five year collaboration, working closely with local artisans, it really has been a work of love and devotion to restoration, breathing new life into the charming old buildings. Surrounded by a landscape that feels unchanged in centuries, the approach has been to be as light-touch in the renovation as possible, whilst ensuring as many comforts of modern day.
This continues with an eye on keeping as much of the energy produced from solar and collecting rainwater in large cisterns to feed the Masseria's fruit and vegetables. We further pledge to donate 5% of all profits to carbon offset charities, in a bid to offset the carbon contributions of traveling to us.
