We’ve spent countless wonderful weekends in Puglia and years creating Masseria Gemmabella. Here is what we love.

At The Masseria

The saltwater pool nestled in the old orchard is the perfect way to cool off in the heat of the Southern Italian summer.

Spa and treatments

Tucked away in the old Hay Barn, is the massage room. You don’t need to leave the comfort of home. Our wonderful local masseuse will indulge you in essential oils and help you settle into the Puglian pace of life. Alternatively sweat it out in the gym and sauna.

Surrounded by ancient woodlands and farmland that seem unchanged for centuries, you can soak up the night’s sky far from city lights. Ideally from the comfort of the Jacuzzi.

Noci is a small hidden gem in the rolling hills of this famous burrata-producing region. Despite its size, you can find a bustling food market, a host of delicious restaurants and seemingly endless number of festivals during the summer months. The beautiful historic centre house narrow stone streets with overflowing window boxes and warm local inhabitants. A fantastic example of a true slice of Puglian countryside.

Undoubtedly the most famous town in the region, the UNESCO heritage site of Alberobello is famous for its Trulli-lined streets and only a short drive away.

The beautiful walled city of Locorotondo is sat high on a hill which offers fantastic views of the local countryside as well as some fantastic typical Puglian restaurants. It is no coincidence that Locorotondo is know as the "balcony of the Valle d'Itria".

Beaches, boat trips and cliff jumping

Whether its the adrenaline-fuelled Red Bull cliff jumping contest in Polignano A Mare, or a more sedate tour of the coves of Tarranto, or some fantastic snorkeling, there’s something for everyone.

We have contacts for some of the most entertaining guides who bring the Valle de Itria to life. home to some remarkably charming towns.
